The Cherry Bomb Burlesque got their start in Springfield in 2009 thanks to the one-and-only Bethany Ziskind (Baby B Stiletto) when she moved back to Springfield from New York City. She’d participated in the NYC Burlesque scene and cut her teeth with the likes of Clams Casino and Minnie Tonka – well known burlesque babes on the Neo-Burlesque circuit. The Cherry Bomb Burlesque filled a vaudeville void in Springfield, bringing the raucous and risque to a brand new audience.
The Cherry Bomb Burlesque has had the pleasure of sharing the Lindberg’s stage with some incredible performers and performance troupes over the years including the Tinderbox Circus Sideshow, Dangerous Curves Ahead: Burlesque on the Go-Go, and the incomparable Twirly Whirly Burly-Q starring Ula Uberbusen, Rosie Cheeks, and Hazel Honeysuckle who will be joining them once again with special guest Boo Bess on April 7th for a show fueled by pure sex appeal and good old-fashioned girl power!
Are you ready to meet the Cherry Bombs? Here are the burlesque babes that keep Springfield feeling all hot and bothered!
Alright you caught me. When I’m not blogging about local babes with Becca Kennedy, I’m performing with my burlesque troupe! I’ve been shimmying and shaking as a Cherry Bomb since 2011 when I made my debut as part of a duet to Prince’s classic “Darling Nikki”. My character is silly and sexy and likes to shake her booty! Some of my favorite acts over the years include “These Boots Were Made For Walkin” with mile-high hair and some Nancy Sinatra sass, “Drunk In Love” performed as an intoxicated kitty cat to the Postmodern Jukebox version of Beyonce’s instant classic, and most recently my Fancy 5000 robot routine performed to Kanye West’s “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” for the farewell show honoring our very own Miss Ann Thrope and her move to Kansas City. We miss you already!
Kiwi Kindrick was found in bathroom stall of Lindberg’s Tavern when the staff came to open for the day. Upon discovering that through the night Kiwi had consumed the bars’ ample supply of bourbon, he now works his debt off by performing with The Cherry Bomb Burlesque and quickly racks up more debt by fueling his performance with more whiskey. Kiwi is best known for his themed underwear and chair tricks. His Favorite song to perform to is Etta James’ “I Just Wanna Make Love to You”.
Allura LiQuor, having lived her childhood as an overworked pint-sized stage diva, grew into a rebellious teen that vowed to reject the lime light forever…That was until the call of the spotlight came back with a vengeance in the Spring of 2015. Since being adopted into The Cherry Bomb Burlesque family Allura has fully reclaimed her love for the stage. When not performing you can find her most nights sipping wine while she bedazzles her entire existence. Allura LiQuor: That boozy beauty with an ample bust, but twice the booty. Some of her signature numbers include her classic burlesque balloon popping number as a busty bunch of grapes to Marvin Gaye’s “I Heard it Through the Grapevine” & a bridal themed tease to “Like a Virgin” by Madonna, complete with veil, ring, and (a crowd favorite) endless pairs of panties!
Laela L’Etoile has been with The Cherry Bomb Burlesque for two years now and during this time she’s cultivated her character. Laela lives for the sweeter things in life. She’s hyper-sassy, cheeky, and a bit like Tinkerbell; if you don’t applaud her, she’ll die….right there on stage. Some of her favorite numbers include “Earned It”, by the Weeknd, a sticky performance involving an ice cream sundae and copious amounts of chocolate sauce, and “Buttons” by The Pussycat Dolls, where she removes her restricting clothing to reveal a pair of sweatpants and proceeds to enjoy a meal on stage. Tres sexy, non?
Once Bellatrixxx Time Warped with the Cherry Bombs in October of 2015, she was hooked on the glitter and glory of life onstage. Since then, she has evolved into a seductive enchantress with many different faces. From performing to Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar on Me” as a prude stick-in-the-mud hopelessly falling into the temptation of Rock ‘N’ Roll sex appeal, to a relentless tease trying not to be swept off her feet by a persistent admirer in a ballroom-esque routine to Poison’s “Talk Dirty To Me”, Bellatrixxx keeps the audience on their toes. She’s even been known to work the occasional magic with a hula hoop! Another favorite performance is “Mrs. Potato Head” by Melanie Martinez, which portrays potential downfalls of social expectations and vanity.
Miss Ann Thrope
Miss Ann Thrope has been performing with the Cherry Bombs since the summer of 2016 and hasn’t looked back since. The character of Miss Anne Thrope is a slightly sinister succubus here to titillate and tease as a distraction while she steals your soul. Her performances often incorporate her classical dance training including pointe work and lyrical. Her favorite performance was a pointe routine to Kanye West’s “Runaway”. She’s currently on hiatus as she’s recently moved to Kansas City but it won’t be long before she’s back on stage with the Cherry Bombs again!
Deadly Miss Blue
Deadly Miss Blue has one goal for every show: the inspiration of fear boners. A touch of B-film horror level gore, a sprinkle of occultism, a dash of ridiculousness and a healthy dose of curves- always shaken never stirred. Some of her favorite routines include cutting her clothes off by switchblade to “Can’t Hardly Stand It” by the Cramps, crawling around on stage and sucking souls as a demonic succubus to “I’m In It” by Kanye West, and rubbing her butt on flowers as a pollen crazed bumblebee to “Honey White” by Morphine. Be sure to say “Hi” to her at the next show! She doesn’t bite…hard…
Joining only in February of 2017, Luna Loveless has already found her place as a Cherry Bomb. Luna has a penchant for the sexy side of humor, especially when that includes teaching a sexy sex-ed class to Postmodern Jukebox’s cover of “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” that culminates in an oral demonstration of condom application. Climaxes and giggles are Luna’s primary performance objectives, and she hopes to inspire multitudes of both in future Cherry Bomb shows.
Wondering who that cutie in the glasses on the left is? None other than the incredible Jen N Tonic – Stage Kitten Extraordinaire! From setting up glorious glittery props to the retrieval of gloves and undergarments, Jen N Tonic makes sure that her Cherry Bombs have whatever they need to rock your face off!
Dr. Pete Killhouse
Dr. Pete Killhouse, a licensed sexologist with a double major in boobies and basket weaving, is a Cherry Bomb staple. As an MC Dr. Pete is responsible for introducing the troupe and selling the audience on each and every character. He provides the comic relief in between performances and enthralls the crowd with his suave on-stage persona. Oh, and he never ever takes off the ascot.
If you like the photos of The Cherry Bombs you have our newest addition to the troupe – Daddy Dimples (Conor Tierney) to thank! Not only is Conor a talented photographer but a knockout burlesque performer and he’ll be making his stage debut at our next burlesque show on March 31st at Lindberg’s Tavern. The show starts at 9pm so mark your calendars and come say hello to Springfield’s premiere neo-burlesque troupe!
