“She got her own house, she got her own car.”
Emily Vonderahe makes us immediately think of the lyrics from “I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T” when we stroll up the walk to her gorgeous home in Mid-Missouri.
This babe not only bought this house when she was 24, but Emily also got right to work putting her signature style into each of the rooms in the four years since.
We died immediately for this entire room. Everything was absolutely perfect, and the squeals we made grew louder with each item we discovered. Not even sorry about it.
Each piece has a place and purpose. Even Emily’s adorable babies, Pippin and Piddles, knew how to be perfectly poised!
This cream and beige dress is a vintage piece that Emily scored at an estate sale. She has an eye for detail and even had the perfect pair of matching pumps to go with this “grown up girl-scout” inspired frock. We love how regal she looks on this vintage sofa with her puppies in tow. She’s what we imagine the love child of Tiffani-Amber Thiessen and Elizabeth Taylor would look like. Swoon!
The dress perfectly matches the room’s polished and dignified atmosphere.
To fit the summery vibe we were feeling here, we went with a bright yellow bikini top and a thrifted, high waist skirt we found at one of our favorite thrifty haunts. This one came from Springfield’s YOTO Community Thrift Store on Glenstone Ave. We’ve definitely mentioned it before, but we keep going back for 1/2 price Monday’s! We also love the retro vibe it added to the look. The cat eye frames are a pair of our favorites by Penelope Gazin.

Serious obsession with these colors.
It’s the perfect balance of brick and bright contrast. There’s even a white picket fence surrounding her ridiculously lush green yard. This fantastic 60’s mod style sheath dress came from an estate sale for TWO DOLLARS. This girl shops like a pro. We love her.
Piddles is the youngest of Emily’s two dogs, she got him while she was attending college to join Pippin, who has been with her since her freshman year in high school. He came during the onset of her strong Lord of the Rings love, thus his awesome name.
As we made way through her home, Emily showed us to her secret third floor off her bedroom where she keeps her collection of vintage clothing.
Basically, it’s the complete package for us as far as dream homes go.
This blue cotton maxi dress was another dress from her magical vintage dress closet made of all of our dreams. This dress reminded us of one of our favorite country musicians, June Carter-Cash! “Wildwood Flower” anyone?
We especially love the way the dress matches the hues in her dining room. Emily’s dining room is bright and calming with soft blue walls and vibrant touches alongside vintage china.
The best part about Emily, besides all the beautiful things she curates and the gorgeous woman she is, is her kindness. Emily is full of charm and grace like you would expect from classic icons such as Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly.
This pink halter dress was handmade by Emily’s mom!
Emily and her mother have always loved dressing up for events, theme parties, and pretty much any reason they could find! This dress Emily’s mom wore to a family member’s Sweet Sixteen party, and a young 14-year-old Emily rocked a poodle skirt!
This dress and cape set were absolutely breathtaking.
Emily got this ensemble to wear originally as a Cleopatra costume!
We can’t thank Emily enough for welcoming us into her bright and beautiful home, showing us her one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, and letting us hang with her adorable pups! We definitely can’t wait for our next road trip to Missouri’s state capital.
