Louisville is my home away from home. Most of my dad’s family lives there and my mom and brother recently spent a few years there while he was in school and quickly fell in love with the city responsible for great minds like Hunter S. Thompson and Diane Sawyer.
Most of you might recognize Louisville as being home to the Kentucky Derby – a time when people put on huge, silly hats and drink copious amounts of old-timey booze while they yell at horses. It’s such a big deal that Esquire Magazine dubbed it “the biggest party in the south”.
This is one city that knows how to get down.
Memorial Day weekend boasts the largest annual Beatles festival in the world, Abby Road on the River, and Forecastle Festival, an annual music fest drawing acts like The Flaming Lips and The Black Keys draws over 35,000 people each year.
This year we are proud to announce our attendance at Louisville’s Louder Than Life festival. The three day event is focused on live music, whiskey, and gourmet food provided by local vendors and famous chefs.
We’re Gritty Luxe. We love Kentucky Straight Bourbon and we love that 93% of all bourbon whiskey is made right there in the Bluegrass State. There are currently around 4.9 million barrels of bourbon aging in Kentucky right now.
That’s more booze than people y’all.
