It’s about to get hot, babes. We made it. It’s finally August and that means two things:
1. Get ready to sweat.
2. Time to break out the best of this summer’s trends before the racks are filled with sweaters and scarves.
We asked one of the hottest babes we know, Vanessa Miranda, to model some of our favorite summer looks so far. You might recognize her from her impressive Instagram account (@vanessadenise) or from Springfield Brewing Company, where she slings some of the best craft beer in Springfield.
If you didn’t know her name before, you definitely will now.
One of the styles we were happy to see come back this year was the fringed kimono. These were everywhere this summer and you may remember us using one when styling Eletha, our swimsuit model. H&M put out a line for Coachella this year and we immediately grabbed this black number, the perfect addition to a simple suit or romper.
Vanessa looks like an actual princess. It’s witchcraft, we’re sure of it, so it’s perfect that she’s working on a dark Disney tattoo sleeve.
Nightmare Before Christmas, Frankenweenie, Snow White, the works.
What a doll. We die. You can see a little bit of it peeking out from the lime green crop top bralette we paired with her high waisted denim shorts.
We love the way Vanessa rocks those choppy bangs. Her personal style totally contributes to the vibe of this look.
Current ‘90s fashion trends taking over popular streetwear has us drooling over this super casual look featuring our model’s own white crop top and high waisted harem style pants.
The fitted legs make them perfect for a short black bootie heel.
We know what you’re thinking. Julia Roberts.
Be still our hearts.
The perfect dress for weather like this is the maxi. They’re everywhere. Just remember. There’s a right way and a wrong way to wear a maxi. They’re like underwear, they need to fit well, look great, and be classy.
This floral maxi featuring perfect geometric cutouts at the shoulders and waist is seriously just right. It’s sexy, without being revealing. It’s not too colorful, that is to say, it’s not trying to do too much at once. It’s already a challenge to pull off a floor length dress. One wrong accessory addition and the look can turn super formal when you’re only going to the grocery store.
If you’re going to wear formal to grocery shop, go big, break out the ballgown.
She’s basically a movie star. So obviously this babe wants to be behind the scenes, making movie magic happen when she makes it big. Keep your eyes peeled for her name next to “Visual Effects and Motion Graphics Specialist” because one of these days, you’ll be thanking her for making your favorite Pixar flick give you all the feels.
What better to end the perfect fashion shoot than a fun look that showcases Vanessa’s personal style? We paired her fitted bodycon Superman skirt with a shredded “Hello Weekend” tee. The purple high-top Converse really complete the look and add a playful element that we love.
If you can’t get enough of our shoot with Vanessa, check us out on Instagram @GrittyLuxe for more of your favorite new model.
Happy shopping babes!
