We were super stoked to learn that Drury University’s Moxie Film Series’ next film will be THE PUNK SINGER – A film about one babe we can’t stop swooning over. Kathleen Hanna. Not only was she the front woman for two bands you should drop everything and start listening to right now, Bikini Kill and Le Tigre, but she’s also an activist, a feminist, a zine writer, a survivor and an inspiration.
The Punk Singer- directed by Sini Anderson, details Hanna’s life and career as well as her battle with Lyme disease. Hanna’s life story is an incredible one and we feel thankful for the work she’s done to support and strengthen the women around her through music, art, writing and speaking out about important issues and what its like living with Lyme Disease.

“Find something you really love doing and mix it with something you really care about. That’s why I’ve had such longevity as an artist. I really, really care about ending violence against women, and I really, really love playing music. It’s super enjoyable!” – Kathleen Hanna
The PUNK SINGER will screen at the Moxie on April 18th at 1 p.m.!
Following the screening, hometown Riot Grrrl heroes – C-Rex will be there to talk about the current state of Riot Grrrl, their band, and why they do what they do. Go see them and support your local babes doing badass things!
